Walt Disney World at a glance
A whole vacation—not just a castle
Walt Disney World is a 40-square-mile destination with four theme parks, two water parks, more than 25 Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs. The right plan connects all of it without turning your family vacation into a military operation.
Pick your kind of magic
Meet the four theme parks
Every park has a different personality. Your best itinerary depends on your family’s ages, interests, must-do attractions and snack priorities. Yes, snack priorities count.
Classic Disney
Magic Kingdom
Cinderella Castle, beloved characters, iconic attractions and the largest collection of classic Disney experiences.
Best for: First visits, younger kids and anyone chasing the full Disney feeling.
Discovery & global flavors
EPCOT
Big attractions, seasonal festivals, World Showcase pavilions and enough food and drinks to call walking “research.”
Best for: Foodies, festival fans, adults and families who like to explore.
Movies, heroes & adventure
Hollywood Studios
Enter the worlds of Star Wars, Toy Story and other screen favorites with a strong lineup of thrills and entertainment.
Best for: Star Wars fans, thrill seekers, tweens and teens.
Wildlife & immersive worlds
Animal Kingdom
Animal encounters, Broadway-caliber entertainment, Pandora and some of Disney’s most detailed environments.
Best for: Animal lovers, immersive storytelling and a more relaxed park pace.
Water parks, Disney Springs and more
Build in a water-park day, shop and dine at Disney Springs, play miniature golf or simply enjoy your resort. A good Disney vacation has room to breathe.
Stay inside the magic
Choose the resort that fits your trip
The cheapest room is not always the best value, and the fanciest lobby is not always the best fit. We compare transportation, room layout, dining, pools and location—not just the price tag.
Value Resorts
Big Disney energy, smaller price
Playful theming and straightforward rooms for families who want Disney transportation and more money left for snacks.
Moderate Resorts
More space and upgraded amenities
Immersive grounds, added dining options and resort features that strike a comfortable middle ground.
Deluxe Resorts & Villas
Premium locations and experiences
Standout pools, signature dining and convenient access to select parks, with villa options for extra space and home-like amenities.
Why families stay at a Disney Resort hotel
- Complimentary transportation around Walt Disney World
- Early theme-park entry on valid days
- Disney-level theming and service
- Convenient access to dining and recreation
Benefits and eligibility can change and may vary by resort, ticket and travel date. We confirm the details before you book.

Disney planning FAQ
A few answers to the questions that usually show up right after somebody says, “Let’s go to Disney.”
How many days do I need at Walt Disney World?
Many first-time families do well with four to six park days. Your ideal length depends on the parks you want to visit, rest days, budget and whether you plan to return soon.
Do I need a Park Hopper ticket?
Not always. Park Hopper adds flexibility, but one park per day can be easier for first visits and younger children. We will price both options and match them to your itinerary.
Which Disney Resort category should I choose?
Choose based on the full vacation—not the label. Transportation, room layout, dining, pool time and park location can matter as much as the nightly rate.
When should I book my Disney vacation?
Earlier booking usually provides more resort and room choices. If a qualifying promotion becomes available later, we can review whether it may be applied to your reservation.
Does using a travel advisor cost extra?
